Synopsis

ReelShort’s official logline says it all: a rebellious daughter wants freedom from the mafia life, but her forced marriage to a hyper-possessive mafia killer stands entirely in her way. The show adapts Cora Reilly’s novel of the same name — book three in her Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles — and ReelShort is billing it as a sequel to its earlier Reilly adaptations. It drops on October 6, so this preview is based on the platform’s own teasers, not full episodes.

Why it might work

ReelShort has already adapted this universe before — Bound by Duty (Dante and Valentina’s story) and its follow-up Bound by the Past — so there’s a built-in audience of book readers who’ve been asking for this one. The formula — reluctant mafia bride, dangerous husband, loyalties that shift every ten episodes — is the genre’s bread and butter. If the casting and pacing land, this is a ready-made hit.
